Symantec Corporation Complaint - SYMANTEC CHARGES FOR FREE TRIAL - NORTON ANTIVIRUS 2010

NORTON ANTIVIRUS 2010 - Complaint
Review by SOBERINSD on 2010-01-28
I recently downloaded Norton anti-virus 30 day (free) trial. In the terms, it said that after the 30 day trial that my debit account would then be charged for the service. That's fine, but the very next day the money was taken out of my account causing my account to over-draw. So I ended up paying the $40 plus $35 to my bank because of this product. What a great way to treat new potential customers. I paid $75 for the trial download. I also wrote to their customer service about this and haven't received a reply. I would strongly suggest going with a different product than this.

Wouldn't it raise a red flag that they want a card number for a free trial?

Alley best answer.

Besides there's free antivirus programs out there, some of which are pretty good

How does it happen that Avg isn't mentioned more often..?

i dunno.
i mean i've heard they still have a fully free version out there.

granted i don't use it cos... the one computer i ahve that would need it, i use norton corporate edition for, which means i never have to pay to renew.
