Galaxy Complaint - Galaxy microwave - defective
HOFFMAN ESTATES, ILLINOIS -- 1 1/2 years ago our family purchased a midline galaxy (kenmore)microwave hood combination from Sears for over our stove. one month later we called Sears where we bought the appliance. After numerous calls to customer service and taking a day off work for service the repair person arrives and says they have to order a part and in 2 wks will install. 2 wks go by and another day off work for the service person to install the board etc into the microwave. It works for @ 1 year no problem then boom - we go and cook 4 potatoes and we smell a metal smell and smoke. the microwave is out of commission.
I call service again and now since its little over 1 year it costs more to fix it than we paid for the appliance!!!! I gave up - will never purchase a galaxy again from Sears or anywhere. 3 months later I purchased another brand microwave- not from Sears above the stove and its working perfect.
We are ordinary consumers struggling in this economy to make ends meet without getting ripped off at every turn. Message to Galaxy Kenmore, test your products and offer better customer service when a product breaks within a month offer a 5 year warranty free to compensate. Galaxy (Kenmore) from Sears - Don't stiff the customer like you did to us.! Its bad PR.. True story.
