Carmax Kenosha Complaint - Carmax - Don't Let Them Steal Your Car/SUV

Review by 4getCarmax on 2010-01-30
KENOSHA, WISCONSIN -- Beware of low ball Carmax offers to buy your car. In my case the the sales consultant used false supporting information in a bait and switch routine with my 2005 Jeep Cherokee Limited.

Carmax no haggle purchase price was $1500 to $5000 less than the REAL KBB trade-in value. Showing me a Cherokee Laredo Sport model as a comparable trade-in to to my Limited model with all options. This was used to support their extremely low offer.

Beware of Carmax sales consultants in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Their market prices are not supported by real facts. Times are tough and we all need to watch out for big businesses like Carmax out to take our money.

There is not enough information here to support your accusation of bait and switch.

bait-and-switch  /ˈbeɪtnˈswɪtʃ/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [beyt-n-swich] Show IPA
–adjective 1. denoting a deceptive method of selling, by which customers, attracted to a store by sale items, are told either that the advertised bargain item is out of stock or is inferior to a higher-priced item that is available.

They made a comparison that you felt was unfair, so you didn't take the deal, right? People conducting business walk away from deals every day.

Not really a bait and switch, but good advise nonetheless. Plenty more bang for your buck if you sell the car yoursrelf using KBB for a base.
