Pep Boys Complaint - 1994 Civic
MONTGOMERYVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA -- I called Pep Boys about replacing my starter, described my car in great detail, and was informed that they had a rebuilt one in stock. After waiting 1.5 hours, a service representative informed me that there were several starter motors for the 1994 Civic and they would have to order the right one from the local warehouse. They put the old starter back in. I returned the next day and waited another 1.5 hours and again was informed that they did not have the correct part. They offered to order another rebuilt starter from out of state but it could take up to a week to get it. They could not guarantee that the new one would be the right one. I told them to put the old starter back in and decided to take my car to a Honda dealer since I needed the car fixed asap. My complaint is that Pep Boys should have verified the part number before all this trial an error bs. On top of this, they tried to charge me for taking the old one out and replacing it twice but I refused to pay. Stay away from Pep Boys except for basic services like tires, alignment, inspections.
