Expansys Complaint - Deceptive Sales of Non US Compatible Products
BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS -- I purchased a Netgear wireless router modem combo from Expansys. First off, the site said they had 100 in stock. After processing my payment, they said they didn't have any at all in stock. I paid for expedited shipping - delivery within 3 days - and scheduled a contractor to be onsite. It took weeks to get the modem. Initially they would not refund the difference in the shipping charges saying that I received the shipment within 3 days of when they shipped it out. That is NOT 3 day priority shipping. They would not respond to my emails requesting a refund so I contacted their marketing department and they did respond quickly to get my refund credit. Second, the site states Expansys "USA". The shipping and billing address for me are in the "USA". Their contact email address includes "USA". When the product arrived, we checked the box to be sure it was what we ordered and everything was intact. Now, WELL PAST the 15 day return policy, when we are scheduled to install the product, we find out that it is not USA power supply compatible. We NEVER thought to check the power supply plug to be sure it was USA power compatible. Would you???? This is very deceptive. There is no subcategory for FRAUD or FALSE ADVERTISING so I'll just pick RELIABILITY. Oh, and if you return merchandise, even though it is their issue, you still pay the shipping both ways for the wrongful delivery and for the return. Better luck on eBay. Total thumbs down on this company.
