Chase Manhattan Bank Complaint - Chase TAKES ALL YOUR MONEY
PHX, ARIZONA -- Chase took $1400 (leaving me $20.38) from my account.
With NO REFERENCE available to me, they did this three days before the new month bills start. After I lost my job my unemployment benefits required that I get a Chase account to get the whopping $214 a week. Woo. I kept the account, that was my mistake. BIG MISTAKE. Here's the extra rub. I couldn't sell the commercial asset, banks (Chase included) wouldn't loan money to keep the project alive WHILE it was sold. BANKS SUCK. Everything we had was put into a commercial property. So when the SBA froze lending and the BANKS wanted another $45K plus the interest payments THEY crashed my company because I didn't have time to sell the property - or raise the "equity injection" - you try to find a buyer in a week. Then, I lost my regular job when I became disabled. SO, yeah I lost the company I was building; we lost our house; we lost our cars; wound up having surgery.
I now live on social security and my disability pension. I did not want to bank at Chase, I left my stuff there because they were "close" and I'd had the account for 11 months. Now, looking around (and back) this is how they operate. I was an idiot for banking with them again. So my recommendation would be to AVOID Chase Bank at all costs. Even with $3/gal gas, $1400 pays for a lot of gas driving an extra block. Did I owe the debt. No, the company did that is one reason you create COMPANIES.
Oh, and don't even bother calling when they take your money - they can't even tell you WHERE they applied it. When I inquired I was told that it was taken from my personal account because of old company debt - that company went insolvent years ago - and it was a COMPANY debt, not personal - AND they had given me a form 1099-C (debt cancellation) AND they still could not even tell me WHAT account they applied it to. Who knows, maybe Bubba will be knocking at my door in a few weeks too.
DO NOT BANK AT CHASE. My advice. Do not bank at any bank they you have ever done business with EVEN if it wasn't you but a company you were involved with.
CHASE get $$$$ in TARP and wipe out my entire account - the fat cat didn't get his bonus because they took TARP. Oh tears for the "leaders" at Chase. AVOID THIS BANK. They rank with Wells Fargo who I would also avoid. Bank of America I actually liked, but they also held company debt so I'll be avoiding them as well.
So the account is getting closed AND I'm posting my experience on at lease seven sites to warn others. Hopefully others will be warned.
