Global Tel Link, Ohio Complaint - Consistent miserable service

Review by purehighlander on 2010-02-02
MOBILE, ALABAMA -- Twice in a minute I received collect calls from an Ohio penal institution from a relative and each time accepted the call (which endengers a six dollar fee from Global Tel Link) and each time the call, which is supposed to last fifteen minutes, but is always interrupted three times by a recorded voice telling you what you already know (where the call is coming from, how much time there is left) and eats up almost two minutes of the prepaid talk time, was terminated after six seconds. Now I have been charged for two calls, neither of which contained any calling. One cannot reach a human at GTL's 1-800-231-0193's phone number. If you don't have a "pass code" to "access your account information" you have to fax a recent phone bill with your name, address, and phone number on it and a four digit code that you want to use as a "Pass code": as if they DON'T ALREADY HAVE ALL YOUR INFORMATION. it's simply a ruse to not allow a customer complaint and disallow access to the monopolistic giant.
