Spirit Airlines Complaint - Totally told a Lie!!!!!!
Back in Aug. of 2008 my friend Pat and I went down to Myrtle Beach to play golf for a few days. I purchased and booked the flight for both of us and Pat purchased and booked for us to stay in a condo. Our flight down was uneventfull and went ok.
Now the fun part.....
Upon returning to the airport in Myrtle Beach to return home we were informed that our flight was delayed due to weather in NY.(understandable) after about an hour or so we were told that our flight was cancelled. Pat needed to be home by the next morning because he was going to Florida with his wife and kids. We were told by the person at the desk that my charge to my credit card would be credited. At that point I rented a car to drive back to NY. It was the drive to hell. Traffic, bad weather, you name it.
Anyway, after finding no credit back to my card for the next few months, I contacted Spirit Air. I was told that the flight was never cancelled and that it was my fault for not getting on the plane which eventually took off later that evening, and I would not receive any refund.
My question, why the hell would I have paid to rent a car, drive 13hrs. in traffic, bad weather, etc. if they did not tell me the flight was cancelled. I have tried contacting the main office in Florida via phone calls, and emails. I have still not herd back from ANYONE from Spirit Air. I would advise anyone and everyone not to ever fly on this airline. They lied to me, and do not stand behind their airline. All I wanted was somekind of credit for another flight and I would have been satisfied.
