Federal Express Complaint - Federal Express Hiring Techniques

Complaint
Review by lisaannmach on 2004-09-23
NOVI, MICHIGAN -- As a consumer from your state, I felt it was my responsibility to bring to your attention the following incident.

My fiance Christopher Schaecher was hired by Federal Express, based out of Novi, Michigan on August 30th, 2004. He went through two weeks of training, with the guarantee to work full time with the company. On Friday, September 17th, he was told that there were no jobs available for him. He was put on personal leave of absence. I am very distraught with worry, due to the fact that we just moved into a new home. I cannot believe that a company can do this to people. Chris left a good job for Federal Express. I cannot understand how a company can have a job one minute and not the next. What can I do do help allevaite this disregard for the hard working middle class person?

As a resolution, I would like the following:

Well, a job would be nice, but public knowledge of this problem. I think if people knew the types of things that happened behind the scenes, they be less apt to use this company for shipping needs.

Please contact me if you need more details regarding this incident.

What kind of a guarantee did FedEx give your fiance? Was it in writing? Was the job based on how well he performed during the training period?

Sometimes with jobs such as FedEx or USPS they start off with a part time position and even before that you have to take an exam to even be considered for any type of position. And even then it's not guaranteed you'll even get a job right away. At least that's the way it was 7 years ago. Maybe someone will come along and give you more current accurate info. Good luck.
