Wells Fargo & Company Complaint - Wells Fargo Punishes customers for paying bills early?
I called Wells Fargo to get a payoff on my Raymour and Flanighan CC, because I had not receieved a bill from them. The customer Service representative gave me a balance which was higher than I expected and when I asked her to explain, she told me I had a past due amount and a late charge. I told her that was impossible as I pay my bills early and pay double what is owed. I even read her my Dec statement which showed I had made my double payment on the 3rd of the month. This was her explanation: Because the bill was not due until much later in the month, and because I did not make a payment later in the month (even though I had already paid it online on the 3rd), it shows as if I didn't make a payment at all and I get a late charge! She also told me that I have to make January and Dec payment and pay a late charge, even though I made a double payment in the beginning of December! In other words, you cannot make an early payment with Wells Fargo, because it doesn't count and you get a late charge on top of that! I asked a supervisor to please adjust and fix my account since I had already made my payment and she said "I can't do that". The only thing she did was waive my late charge "This time" Is this practice even legal????
