FREMONT, CALIFORNIA -- I have to start by saying that I had 2 points on my driving record. Simple violations such as not stopping long enough at a Stop sign and a car pool lane violation. I was with AAA at that time paying close to $3500 per year for two cars, so I decided to switch to progressive. The reason is I got a quote for about $2500 from them. But, for some reason or the other the premium went up periodically over 6 months and I was paying close to $4K. When both of my points came off, I requested them to rewrite it, they refused to do it for another 5 months based on some wierd rules. I finally had enough and came back to AAA who welcomed me back with open arms. Now, I pay close to 1900 with them. Now, progressive is still charging me some more money and a $50 cancellation fee. I would never ever go to them for Auto insurance ever again.
This is the worst money sink I have ever had. They would rather lose me as a client than to restrucure my deal when my points went off.
