Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - Wrongly Charged for Damages
NARRAGANSETT, RHODE ISLAND -- In Nov.'09 I rented a Hyundai from Enterprise Narragansett, RI for about two weeks. During the rental period I brushed against a concrete abutment to a light pole in a parking lot, at near-zero speed, resulting in a small scrape to the front-right bumper edge. I showed the representative the scrape upon returning the car and he said it was "insignificant".
A few weeks later I received a blank form asking for my insurance and credit card information, without any estimate as to damage costs. I replied that they send me an estimate. They did, and I was shocked! I was sent an itemized bill for over $1120 which included repairs and painting to the right fender, the hood, and passenger door as well as the "removal/install" of everything from the door handle and mirror to the hood washer nozzles.
When I contested the bill I received an email with a copy of the Enterprise Recovery Specialist's email to the repair shop in which she stated that "based on the pictures" the damage was only to the bumper. Nevertheless, I am still being held accountable for the full damage total. And I am still fighting it two months later...Feb.'10....
