Cabrio Washer and Dryer - Complaint
I purchased a Cabrio set in 2007. After 14 months, 2 months out of warranty, the washer stopped working. After a lot of complaining by me, Whirlpool agreed to pay for the parts if I paid for the repair labor ($200). The Tech came and fixed the washer. It ran for 3 loads and broke with a similar error. I called Whirlpool and they wanted the same arrangement again. I said no that I wasn't about to keep paying $200 dollars for 3 loads of clothes. I asked them to replace the washer with a cheaper ($350) model that was mechanical. that is cheaper than the parts they sent, according to them. They refused, but did offer a 5% discount if I wanted to go purchase a new Whirlpool. I went and bought a new mechanical washer and trashed the Cabrio.
Now 3 years after buying the set, the Dryer has started making a very high pitched squealing sound. I guess I have to replace it now.
So 3 years later, $2000 for the set, $200 in repairs, I have to say that I do not recommend the Cabrio or any other Whirlpool product. And the company could not have cared less that their product was so poorly made or if I remained a customer.
I found a lot more complaints for this product on other web sites while researching the washer error code.
