Purrfect Auto Service Complaint - Not So Purrfect Auto Shop

ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- We went in to get our car's oil changed, after they were finished, the mechanic tried to turn off the Change Oil light on the dashboard. He didn't appear to know how to turn it off, so I pointed out to him that the Reset button is in the fuse box. Next thing I know, my car isn't starting. I asked what was the matter and they said they did not know, so they did a quick diagnostic check on it and told me that the fuel module needs to be replaced because fuel isn't getting into the engine preventing it from starting. And to change that will cost me $400. I called around and found a mechanic I knew who told me that it sounds like the fuse box was messed with and all I needed to do to fix the problem is to put the key in the ignition, and leave it on the ON position for 10 minutes, this will help to reset the whole system and we should be good to go. That is exactly what happened, the car started and drove perfectly after 10 minutes.

My fiance went to the manager nad told him what the problem was, and that it was actually their fault that it happened, and we didn't need to have to pay the $400 to fix a problem that didn't exist. The manager went crazy yelling a nd screaming at us. He said that we had no "proof" that that was what the mechanic had done, and that we needed to leave his shop and never come back there, that he didn't need customers like us to cause him there kinds of problems.

We know where we won't take out car for its next oil change.
