BabiesRUs Complaint - Horrible Baby Registry
After shopping at BabiesRUs for a few years now I went in to do my second registry for my upcoming baby shower. The in store service is terrific but the problems are many once you leave the store:
1. Any items you register for in-store do not show a picture in your registry so not only do you not really know what items they are-as the description is limited but anyone wanting to buy you a gift doesn't either.
2. Any items you want to delete from your in-store registry you have to call or email the registry person to do it for you.
3. The fields of "grandparents" cannot be left blank so you either have to make them delete the category for you, make up fake grandparents or put your own name in.
4. Many items will show up as available when you add them but once they get on the registry will say N/A.
Very frustrating. The in-store people can't do anything about it and the online people don't seem to really care. For a company as large as BabiesRUs it seems ridiculous that they can't get a program sophisticated enough to handle these simple requests. They should also know that numerous studies have shown (not surprisingly) that people are more apt to buy things when there is a picture.
I didn't have this problem when I did my registry for my son so I am not sure if this is new or I just didn't experience or not. I am really thinking of cancelling the whole thing and registering just at our local store instead.
