Quality Water Of Aptos Complaint - RE: Quality Water of Aptos - Poor Quality Customer Relations

Review by reasonablexpectations on 2010-02-08
APTOS (SANTA CRUZ COUNTY), CA. -- This business is a failure when it comes to price & especially in the area of customer relations (they're located next to the The UPS Store & Wachovia Bank on Soquel in Aptos). At 50 cents per gallon, the dispenser outside often takes your money with nothing in return, and often being at an hour when the business is closed so one can not inform the staff. When bringing it to the managers attention (owner?), she behaves as though you are trying to pull a fast one over & cheat her. After causing hard feelings, she reluctantly gave partial credit, but fell short of covering the full amount of the loss. It may be just a few measly quarters (which do ad up to dollars), but I think the principle here should be clear to any reasonable person. I have heard other customers make the same complaint & it has been confirmed that this is the common demeanor on her part. What a poor way to treat customers, the very people who's hard earned money has kept her in business in the first place. What a miserable sense of business! Also, you can get a discount (a "whopping" 12 cents per gallon, making it still 38 cents per gallon) but you are required to purchase a minimum of 52 gallons of water at a time in order to do so. You then are required to go inside when the store is open in order to retrieve the water (which is not always convenient). In addition, the retail price of the simple plastic water jugs are absurdly overpriced. What a joke!

After checking around, I found that Safeway (next door) only charges .33 cpg with no large purchase necessary. Also, I recently discovered that there is another Quality Water Store (next to Nob Hill just off of the freeway in Watsonville). When I stopped in, the staff was pleasant, attentive & very helpful, with absolutely no poor attitude. I was made to feel welcomed & appreciated. The exact same quality water there is only 25 cents per gallon (outside dispenser or inside, your choice) & you do not have to make an extreme purchase (or you may if you like) in order to receive this reasonable price, that price starts at just 1 gallon. That is where I will be gladly going from now on. Hope you will join me.
