Target Complaint - Gift Card Refund Isn't Correct
I've added this 10 times and it still doesn't make sense to me, let me know if it makes sense to you guys.
I bought a Wii for $199.99 and got a free $30 gift card so the "refund value" on the receipt was $169.99(total including tax is $213.69 AND a $30 gift card). I had to use the gift card in a separate transaction, so I bought an additional Wii remote for $39.99 minus the $30 gift card (total with tax was $13.09, $39.99 plus $3.10 tax - $30 gift card)
When I returned the mdse, I was give a refund of $196.25 and a $30 gift card (they could have kept the gift card). All in all I paid out $213.69+$13.09=$226.78. The refund they gave me was $196.25 and a $30 gift card. It appears they took the gift card amount out of both transactions and then added one back in as a refund.
If my thinking is correct, I should have received a refund of $226.78, and they could have kept their gift card. This must be another way to make sure I have to return to Target to use the gift card or maybe I'll lose it and they won't have to pay at all!!!
