21st Century Insurance Company Complaint - Settlement Claim - 21 Century Auto Insurance

21 Century Auto Insurance - Complaint
Review by Debby505 on 2010-02-10
I was involved in an accident AUG, 2 2008. The driver covered by 21 Century blew through a stop sign causing me to hit her. It totaled both cars and messed up my right wrist. I have been sending them paper after paper, report after report for the last year and a half and still no settlement. Everytime I manage to reach my claims adjuster it seems they need more.. Enough is enough, I just want to get this done with and have NO MORE DEALINGS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

Can you go through your own insurance company? You could get your claim taken care of by your own insurance and then they can go after the other insurance company to get reimbursed.

Why not get a lawyer and sue her insurance company.

As much as I hate to throw business at lawyers, the insurance game is one in which they can sometimes help. You might need to contact an attorney. Often you can get a free consult on a personal injury/insurance case. Good luck.

You can't sue her insurance company. You can only sue her. Are you done with all your treatment? Insurance companies generally will not settle with you until you are either done going to the doctor or are never going to get any better.
Most states have departments of insurance, and insurance companies are often required to respond to correspondence within a certain amount of time. If I were you, I'd complain to the DOI in your state first. A lawyer will take 1/3 of your settlement.

Skel, only an insurance company can sue an insurance company? I didn't know that.

No, there are very, very few situations in which an insurance company can be sued, and it's generally by their own insured. This lady has a claim against someone else. That's who she has to sue. I'm saying that if they aren't following the rules, the DOI might make them do it and she could avoid giving over 1/3 of her money to an attorney.

You need to retain a lawyer now to help you take care of this. Typically, you only have two years after a person injury to file suit against the person who caused your injury. After those two years, you will be at the mercy of the insurance company. I would find an attorney to guide you through this. Once you file suit against their insured, it will light a fire under them because obviously, they aren't going to be dealing with you.
