Mexicana Air Complaint - Mexicana Cancelled Flight and kept our money.

My family and I were scheduled to fly out of Dulles Airport to Cancun for a business conference.

Mexicana cancleed the flight and coul dno trebook us until 3 days later.

I explained many times to them that I was goign to a Business Conference and coudl not show up 3 days later when the conference was over.

They said they could not do anything for us except issue a travel voucher with a $150 "Change Fee" for each of us for a flight that THEY cancelled.

I don't' understand how they can enetr into a contract to provide air transportation and then not provide it.

It's like they are saying that they will fly us when it's convenient for THEM and we have to pay another $150.00 each for the privilege.

Did the cancellation have anything to do with the two massive snowstorms that hit Washington DC recently? If your new dates fall outside the the dates that fall into the airline's storm travel policy then you will have to pay the date change fee - this is standard at all airlines.

did you ask them to try to book you on another airline? I know you may not have gotten out that day due to the storm, but you might have been able to go after it cleared...
