Toys R Us Complaint - Bad Customer Service
SPOKANE VALLEY, WASHINGTON -- My wife heard an ad on the radio on the 23rd of December for a $25 gift card with the purchase of the WII game system. On the 26th of December I called the local store (Spokane Valley, WA) and asked if the promotion was still valid. I was told by the game department that it was. I drove over to the store and while selecting additional items to go with the game system I again asked the salesperson if the $25 gift card promotion was still valid and he said yes. I went to the cash register and after the purchase was rang up and paid for I asked for the gift card. The clerk called someone in the store on his phone and after hanging up came back to the register told me the promotion had ended on the 24th of December. I then stated that I wanted my money refunded since the gift card was not included as he had told me before making the purchase. The clerk then took me to the customer service counter and had me wait in line to get my refund. I e-mailed Toys R' Us corporate and let them know I was unhappy with my treatment at the store. I received a canned reply thanking me for my comment and hoping I would shop with them again. I did not even receive an apology from the customer service department for this shabby treatment. I will NEVER shop at Toys R' Us again.
