DirecTV Inc Complaint - Worst Company I've Ever Dealt With
By far the worst experience I've ever had with any retail company in any category... I would strongly encourage everybody that has even remotely considered with going with direct TV to run as fast and as far as you possibly can in any other direction. I have only had their service for three weeks now and I'm seriously contemplating traveling from Illinois to their corporate office in Colorado and speak face to face with the CEO.
We got an ad in our mailbox promoting free next day installation so we figured why not. We signed up for a package deal with AT&T internet for $75.00 a month on a Tuesday. They claimed they didn't know anything about the next day installation so we set up an appt. the following Monday. Wednesday they called back and moved our appointment to Friday afternoon. They called us four times to move our appointment from Monday (which we already did) to Saturday because that was the earliest opening they had available (what happened to Friday?). So we settled on Sat and sure enough they showed up on Fri to install everything.
We just got our first bill in the mail and they had us signed up for a completely wrong plan. They had the wrong credit card number on automatic payment. They were charging us $75 for just cable and had no record of any kind of a package deal with AT&T. My girlfriend had called to figure out what was going on and was treated so badly that when I came home she was in the shower in tears. I began calling and literally had individuals lie to me and then recant their statements after another question or two.
No customer service representative that I have encountered yet has the slightest idea what is going on and every one of them apparently are the sole owner and have no supervisor higher then themself. Within 2 weeks of starting this service I've had enough and now they're trying to charge me a $480 cancellation fee.
I finally got onto wikipedia and found a number to their corporate office and will happily share that number with you now... 310-964-5000. Eventually I got sick of sitting on hold and started punching in random extensions until I got somebody to help me.
