Kia Motors Complaint - Gas Pedal And Timing Chain
TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN -- We had purchased a 2008 Kia Spectra in good faith. Both my husband and I have a problem with the gas peddle.....it seems to be just a little too close to the brake system or it's the design of the gas peddle. None of our other cars have given us a problem, but they are a Chevrolet, and Buick at this present time. When switching from the gas peddle to the brake, we both wind up having our foot on both peddles....which results in braking and accelerating at the same time. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problems.
We had not been told about the timing chain having to be replaced at 60,000 miles and that it has to be done at the Kia dealer so as not to void the warranty. We take care of the car, have the oil changed when do. We are both disappointed about the gas peddle problem and the rule about the timing chain. We would seriously not purchase another Kia.
So far it is running fine. We have had it in for the drivers side safety belt replacement because it doesn't retract well, and it didn't and really still does not click in easily before we drive it.
