Carbone Honda Complaint - Weasals at Carbone Honda

Review by The Bard Rocks on 2010-02-16
YORKVILLE, NEW YORK -- 1) We made a deal on a '09 Honda Fit (good car) that included an aftermarket cruise control installation. I was told that it was not currently available, but that was nearly 10 months ago. A supplier told me today that they have sold them for some months now and have them in stock. Yet my repeated calls to Carbone about this have accomplished nothing. They don't return calls. They promised me several weeks ago that they would refund my money in 2 days - that has not come.
2) I live in upstate NY where it gets cold in the winter. The battery on this car is little larger than one on a motorcycle and, sure enough, when it got below zero, the car would not start. My '01 Ford pickup and the '01 Corolla started perfect those days. So, I called Carbone and got an appointment. They are an hour's drive away. I fully recharged the battery and when the appointment day came, it was warm again and the car started. They told me the battery checked out fine. Of course it did. It's not malfunctioning because it is defective but because it is too small (34amp/hr I believe). They should never have sold this car with an inadequate battery for the area. That battery will work in southern winters, not here.
And Carbone Honda should not be weaseling out of their obligations to their (former) customers. When I am happy with someone, I tell others. And when I am pissed, I tell others.

the size of the battery is determined by the mfctr not the dealer. I don't think they are in a position to alter the vehicle. When someone lives in a cold climate you do things different. Leaving a tricke charge on or similar.

Complain to Honda directly about the battery. The dealer does not design or make the cars, they just sell them.
