online retailer fo flowers - Complaint

Bottom Line: Do not order flowers from this website!

My boyfriend ordered me a vase of 30 pink tulips and paid for same day delivery. On the website, is pictured a vase bursting with full, vibrant, fully bloomed tulips. What did I receive? A teeny tiny vase in a gigantic box. The vase held not 30, but 17 tiny, squat, completely closed pink tulips that were suffocating in tight plastic wrap. I unwrapped them and four of the 17 (not 30) tulips promptly fell to the floor (they were broken on arrival and I am pretty confident that they were broken before they were shoved into the vase for shipping). Most of them had brown (dead) tips. I sent a picture to my boyfriend and he was mortified! He had spent over 83.00 for this mess??? I have honestly seen fuller, healtheir, prettier flowers at 7-11 for about $8 or $9. Also, the vase was covered in fingerprints and dust. The little greeting card? Filthy ( I mean with brown and green smear on it) torn and printed on some kind of white, perforated paper in faded black in with some weird graphic of 2 open cardboard boxes. randon.

I called fromyouflowers and I got the most sympathetic customer service representative on the phone, who apologzied profusely and said she would refund my boyfriend in full. She also encouraged me to NEVER order from the website, as the flowers are lower quality and look nothing like the picture. She said to call to place the order, as they will use a reputable, local florist that will actually do a good job.

So, I thanked and her and decided that a refund was not enough. I wanted my Valentine's flowers and I wanted my boyfriend to not be so humiliated! So, this is on a Friday (2 days before Valentine's day). I shoot off an email to customer service and ask for a replacement. I get a semi-canned reply and they said they will send me a replacement...... on Tuesday (2 days after V-Day!). Why would I want their crappy flowers 2 days after V day? I want them on or before V day and I want them from a REAL florist. I reply to the email and never got a response.

So.... today I get a delivery from fromyouflowers.com. Deja-vu! I open the gigantic box (not very eco friendly company, maybe???) and find the same tiny, squat vase shoved full of (this time 30) pink tulips, fully closed tulips, of course and you could see the brown rot on them through the suffocating plastic. All of my co-workers came in to get a laugh. I opened the tulips and put them in the vase. Of course, the vase is tiny, so the flowers don't fit and they are brown and smooshy in areas and falling over and the petals are separting. I send a pic to my boyfriend - his reply? "WOW- they embarrasssed me again."

THEN, my co-worker tells me that her mom also ordered flowers from this website for Valentine's day and they were AWFUL. Her mom called to complain about the low quality and the price and they offered her a nominal discount -which she found degrading.

Long story short - I never got Valentine's Day flowers and my boyfriend has pretty much declared that he will never risk buying flowers again!

Save yourself the embarrasssment and bypass this company all together. Go with a florist that is affordable, provides fresh product, takes pride in presentation and more pride in customer service - because based on my experience, fromyouflowers.com cannot cut it.
