Air France Complaint - EMPLOYEE THEFT
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- I took an AIR FRANCE FLIGHT from Zurich to Boston, on June 2004, AIR FRANCE being my only carrier, therefore the sole people who handled my two suitcases. When I arrived in Boston, i was informed that both my luggages were missing and that they would be sent to my house. No problem I thought, at least they'll be delivered. When my luggage arrived( 1-2 days late), the locks on BOTH suitcases had been cut-off, and when I received my bags, zippers were open and everything was a mess. When I actually looked through my stuff, I noticed that there were at least 10 missing items from one of the suitcases (they arrived at different times). I was outraged since I lost my CLOTHING, JEWELRY and SOUVENIRS I bought abroad, even my CD and DVD collection. It was obvious that certain things had been singled out. I wrote to AIR FRANCE several times informing them that someone from their company who was handling my bags and had broken through my locks and stolen my belongings. I filed a claim and wrote several letters, quoting them from their Carriers Code that there is nothing stated about stolen goods. All I received in return was a bunch of BS letters stating that Air France is not in charge of "Lost valuables", never mentioning ANYTHING about what it meant that their employees were the obvious culprits or what they would do to resolve the issue. And after every letter they say "please let us restore your confidence to Air France". I wanted to puke!
If anyone is thinking about flying Air France, please note that alot of the people I was flying with, including me, had problems with their tickets and had to wait almost TWO hours in line to have it resolved, the attendants were pleasant, but if something happens to you, dont expect ANYTHING thats even worth your time and most of all dont expect any results or satisfation.
