Whirlpool, once a Leader, now a Loser
Calypso Washer - Complaint
I purchased both a Whirlpool hot water heater and a Calypso washer. Both of these appliances were top of the line at the time of purchase. I have had nothing but problems with them! No matter what, I will never purchase another Whirlpool or GE anything again. These companies pretend that they have warranties, say they'll pay for labor and then replace a $5 part and then you are stuck with a $300 repair bill. That is after 4 service calls and trying to interpret English to those people answering the telephone in some other country where they do not speak English nor understand what I need. Yes, that is how much it was to replace a part on the hot water heater. This was 1.25 years old, only 3 months outside of the service warranty.
My $1000 washer cost $400 to be repaired. It needed a new control board. After all of that, it still does not work. It is now in a pile at the dump.
This is a sad tale of a good company that has gotten greedy and consumers are paying the price. Now that GE is also experiencing appliance trouble, where shall we buy our trusty appliances now? This is all to common among our vehicles and everything else we purchase.
Let's put them out of business by not purchasing their products. Will you join me in the boycott of Whirlpool, Toyota and GE products?
