AllDeaf.com Complaint - Banned my IP address because we had two usernames for my roommate and myself

Review by THartmann9374 on 2010-02-17
AllDeaf.com is a deaf and hard of hearing website which I enjoyed reading posts from deaf and hard of hearing users. I referred it to my roommate which he was interested in joining there.

A few months ago, my roommate and I signed up by creating our usernames, our IP address was banned for having more than one username. We had attempted to contact the administrator on a few occasions, but we never got a reply.

Our purpose was to explain the administrator that we each only have one username, but we all are sharing a same IP address which the router divided a public IP into a few logical IP addresses to us. For example, two computer users would be able to access the same router, but will have a same public IP address.

No money is being involved, but we wanted to share you this story of how AllDeaf.com treated us and banned a single public IP address for multiple users which is not right.

Thanks for reading this.

Fairly common for sites to allow only one one username for one IP address.
