If it wasn't labeled as a cake mix or a brownie mix, then what DID the label say?

Are you sure about that?
I'm looking at pictures of the brownie and cake mixes... and they look pretty well labeled to me.

Didn't the picture of BROWNIES on the box give it away?

Take it back to the store and exchange/return it. OR - make the brownies and enjoy them.

I have never seen a Pillsbury box, or any other brand, for that matter, that did not describe the contents. Please post a picture of the box so we can see whether you are full of it or Pillsbury dropped the ball.

I'm with Starlord. Post a picture of what you purchased. I just looked in my pantry and although they are not the Pillsbury brand the box of cake mix, brownie mix and wild blueberry mix have a picture on the front of the box. No doubt in my mind as to what I was buying with those products. What exactly do you mean by labeling?

I'd like to see a picture of the box in question, because I have never made this accident. They usually have PICTURES on the box, as well as writing leading you to understand what is contained in the box.

All the store I shop at have the cake mixes in one place, the muffins in one place, the quick breads in one and the brownies in another. You would have to be paying no attention to what you were doing to mix them up.
