Dell Computer Corporation Complaint - FTC Rule used. Dell says, "call back in 24 to 48 hours"
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS -- An automated Dell service contacted me by telephone this morning instructing me that my order #159190*** was back-ordered and that I could call 1-800-624-9897 to cancel. yesterday I was on the phone for an entire 8 hour day and was continuously put back in dell's telephone Que and did not receive anyone who could help. I was unhappy with placing 4 orders with Dell so wanted to cancel all of them. at this point and according to FTC rule, I should be able to cancel at least one of these orders and would like to do so but can no longer wait on the telephone. please help with this matter. thank you.
Update. it is 8:47 A.M. and I've been on the phone with Dell for an hour - today-. I am telling this customer service person I would like the email address he says he has to "contact" for order cancellation. he refuses to give it to me. I told him it would be a good thing cause I am writing a complaint and it would benefit Dell if I could add it as a resource for contact. he said no and that he can't get his email through right now to whoever he is attempting to contact so I should check back in 24 to 48 hours to see if the order has been cancelled. I surrendered my banking institution card to prevent Dell from further debiting my account. I will no longer make any purchases from Dell corporation.
