Tires Plus Complaint - Tires Plus Suwanee, ga. Crooks - Highway Robbery

Highway Robbery - Complaint
Review by paul1h on 2010-02-19
SUWANEE, GA, GEORGIA -- Tires Plus @ 3237 Lawenceville-Suwanne Rd. Suwanee Ga.I had to get my car towed from the highway for over heating. Closest place was Tires Plus. I told them them the problem appeared to from a leaky radiator. They confirmed that was the problem and gave me an estimate of $700.00, $400.00 for radiator installed plus $150.00 to flush system and $150.00 to replace a $6.00 thermostat. While I was waiting I was calling around for comps and prices ranged from $250.00 to $450.00, The $450.00 estimate happened to be another Tires Plus. When I told them I couldn't go for the price and was going to take my truck elsewhere they demanded $74.00 for the estimate, when I objected to the charge they proceeded to remove my valve stem on all four tire and removed the air, leaving me stranded. I had to call the police to get things shorted out and paid there estimate charge. They tried to royally screw me. Never ever take your car to the Tires Plus.

Did you file a police report for vandalism? They can't keep your car hostage.

I also hope you called the police and filed a complaint. They cannot hold your car, for not doing business with them.

Unless, did you refuse to pay the tow?? They still can't keep you hostage.

OP objected to the $74 charge for the estimate but that does not allow a business to basically hold the customer's vehicle hostage, I wouldn't think.

Of course they cannot hold his vehicle hostage, but then again, no pay, no vehicle.

Take it to Judge Judy, lol.

I just reread the review, my bad, I sometimes tend to skip over stuff and they are a ridiculous money hungry bunch. Letting the air out of the op's tires, like a child having a temper tandrum.

I wonder if they informed the op of the charge for the estimate, before they went ahead and did it??

@Skye....so are you saying it's ok or not ok for the business to keep the vehicle?
