Dish Network Complaint - Turned over to collection for their mistake
June of 2009 we returned the equipment by UPS in the boxes dish supplied. February 2010 we received a notice from a collection company for $442. They said we didn't return the equipment. After 1 hr on the phone Dish admitted they made a mistake. They had received the equipment. They had made the mistake but our credit has been affected in the process. Even though they have our address, they sent this to my husband ex-wife. We're in the middle of a custody hearing because she is financially unstable and irresponsible. This, I'm sure, will be brought up in court and it will be up to us to prove it was a mistake. When we contacted Dish they act as if it is nothing to have done this mistake to our credit. My complaint is when they send you this prepaid box for shipping, there is no receipt of any kind to prove you sent this back. It is your word against theirs. $442 may not mean much to Dish but in our house it's a lot!
