General Electric Company Complaint - Warranty - GE refrigerator
I just bought a new condo, the place is less than 3 years old, everything in it was new less than 3 years ago. GE warrantied all their high end appliances for 5 years. Well, after moving in my fridge all together stopped working. I called GE to my surprise and good fortune it was still under warranty for 7 months(only 7 months because I didn't have a receipt so it was when the fridge was made), but good enough right? Well, they had a technician come out and look at it. He said my fridge broke because a copper wire damaged the cooling unit and freon leaked. Then he charged me $260. I being the good buy paid it, and said its not his fault its GE's problem. So I called GE to be reimbursed. GE declined stating the copper wire the installer installed caused the problem. I said what copper wire would that be? GE said the one connecting the water to your unit, to which I replied you mean the plastic tube because the copper wire doesn't enter the fridge which means your technician denied my request to be reimbursed because he didn't do his job and actually take note that no copper wire hooks up the refrigerator. After getting no where I hung up.
On the same day I ran into my new neighbors, and still angry I commented about my refrigerator. Turns out I was the last condo to have their refrigerator break, everyone has had their fridge break at least once in the last 3 years, and maybe another GE appliance since we all had a GE microwave, over, washer, dryer, AC units, and fridge. I am so screwed.
