Cox Communications Inc Complaint - Cox Communications - The Rise and Failure from Greed and Arrogance
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA -- Cox Communications descent into what appears to be a path of failure is becoming more and more apparent, in spite of their continued onslaught of advertising prefessing otherwise and just about wrenching their arm out slapping themselves on the back for what a great job and service they provide. Facts could not be farther from the truth. And it just goes to show that if a company spins their tales long enough and hard enough, they begin to believe their tales, and presume the public in their ignorance will do likewise.
If your definition of great service and value is being ripped off, overcharged, receiving poor service, getting treated poorly, and hearing a bunch of exzcuses and when asked to correct problems or questions, you are given the run around to such a degree that they hope you will just give up and suffer in silence, then this is your company of choice. as has been alluded to in conversations, its not as if any of us can do anything about it. they own us, and we will have to get used to recewivng service of this marginal quality, bacause lets face it, what are we going to do? SSpend a bunch of time and energy on an attorney and legal fees against their deep pockets? They smile, say all the nice things, polish their image...but in the background behind the scenes, it is everything but that. They talk the talk, but definitely do not walk the walk. If you had the chance and inclination to see, it would be fairly obvious within a short amount of time how good this company is at taking your money, manipulating the facts, and taking advantage of peoples trusting nature. Some day soon they will reap what they sow.
Someone came into our home while we were away on vacation and ran up a $3000 phone bill we were unaware of. Not only did we not know, but we found out over a month later when we received par tof the charges on our bill. The phone charges just happened to end up split over 2 billing cycles so some we never were aware of until almost 2 months after the fact. In addition it came ot ligh that the guilty party who has fled the country did use a calling card, but Cox didn't seem to care about this or claimed it wasn't used correctly, properly.
I asked why we were not allerted to this alarming activity and charges long ago...if a credit card company can do this there is no reason they cannot. I was told by Cox that since I was a long standing customers who had a long history of always paying their bills, that they didn't need to bother with this (meaning that no matter what charges were racked up, we would pay them, even if they were wrong). We don't use our phone much if at all and never for long distant international calls dialed directly. I asked if there was anyway Cox could help with this or at least negotiate or compromise on a 3000 phone bill. not only was this request repeatedly ignored, but I asked if there was anyway to compromise on this and or attempt to collect from the guilty party. And why werent we allerted to something like this. Credit card companies do it all the time when they see unusual or large transactions...but Cox? why? its not Cox's problem and us consumers have to pay whatever they charge us regardless. it is not in their interest to help alleviate issues like this, because that would mean charging and collecting less...does it really matter if it's right or worng?
