Review by BOBYG on 2010-02-24
MY SISTER ORDERED 2 NECKLESSES AND WAS CHARGED $112.00. THEY REFUSED TO CHANGE IT. THE PRICE WAS $19.99x2 PLUS $7.99 x2 FOR SHIPPING EACH THAT DOESN'T ADD UP TO $112.00 BUT $56.00

If what you saying is true, show it to your credit card company and dispute it.

Has anyone else noticed? It does NOT contain the complete Lord's Prayer, as advertised.

Care to verify that claim, Chuck?
Posted by tnchuck100 on 2010-02-24:
Certainly, get your Bible and watch the ad.

"For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever."

is missing.

When did she place her order? According to the Prayer Cross website, EACH necklace costs TWO payments of $19.99 + S&H, so the $112.00 would be correct. However, the website also says Buy One Get One Free, so if she ordered during this special, then she should dispute the charge with her CC company as was earlier pointed out.

can you read the prayer clearly in it?

just curious.

....For Thine Is The Kingdom, The Power, The Glory Forever, Amen."
Correct?

I thank you for backing up your claim and for not telling me to shut up anymore. It is hurtful.

I gotta respect how Christians turn Jesus the prophet into Jesus the profit. If Jesus ever has an IPO put me on the prospectus mailing list.

Stewart, do you remember Reverend Ike?
Posted by MissMae on 2010-02-24:
Stew, you should make t-shirts with that saying on them. Talk about a money making idea!
Posted by Anonymous on 2010-02-24:
His whole statement?
Sounds like the OP got double billed. DISPUTE!

ZZ, Wasn't that off of Sanford and Son?

MisMae, My wife is Roman Catholic. I doubt she would bless an outsider making profit off the prophet. In fact I'm certain of that.

Reverend Ike was pretty big in that era. He had a sydicated radio show all over the US.
He sold tons of "prayer cloths".

Just for everyone's religious edification. There are two versions of the Lord's Prayer. There's one in Matthew, which contains the doxology (for thine is the kingdom, etc.). There's one in Luke which does not. It appears this cross is using Luke's version.

BTW, many scholars believe the doxology was not in the original text of Matthew, but was added at a later time.

Class dismissed.

Why are you folks insulting God with religion?
Posted by Starlord on 2010-02-25:
Hey, guys. I have heard both versions for all of my almost 64 years. Each of the two camps is positive that theirs is the only true version, and that the other either had something added or taken away. Either way, it is a beautiful prayer. I thought that the true religions preached tolerance, but tolerance is one thing lacking in the world. I hope it won't be judged as soliciting, but I recommend a book called 'Misquoting Jesus.' It is an examination by a Bible scholar on how the gospels were changed over time, either through error or a scribe having his own agenda.

Just for the record I would not have said anything if their ad just said "...reveals the Lord's Prayer" but their ad states "...reveals the ENTIRE Lord's Prayer"
Posted by goduke on 2010-02-25:
According to Luke, that is the entire Lord's Prayer.
