Express Car Care Complaint - Check FLM for warranty info buyer beware

Review by ouelle on 2010-02-25
DENVER, COLORADO -- A free website check for warranty repair on my 2001 Ford Focus would have saved me close to $2000.

I’m out the money and the shop is that much richer. If either the shop - Express Car Care on Evans at Colorado Blvd, Denver CO – or myself had checked on FLMowners.com we would have known that the front end suspension work would have been honored at a local dealership service dept FOR FREE.

After the fact I visited the shop owner and asked him why he did not know about this database – or why he did not subscribe to a database that would have saved me the money. He said it was my responsibility and that he could NOT AFFORD a subscription. Maybe that’s why he needed my money so bad.

He had no idea there was a FREE database at FLMowners.com but his competition up the street knew. That's how I found out my work would have been FREE. Too late for me but save yourself the trouble, Denver.

Did you have/buy an extended warranty on the vehicle. How is it the shops job to keep track whether you have an extended warranty on a 9 year old vehicle, which most are long out of warranty. Most people know when their vehicle is under warranty and when it is not. I agree with the shop that it is your responsibility to know whether your vehicle is under warranty of any kind or not.
