Howard Johnson Hotel Complaint - Howard Johnson's Horrible Hotel

Review by Nance on 2004-10-12
SCARBOROUGH -- I recently visited a Howard Johnson Hotel in Toronto, Scarborough, Canada at 22 Metropolitan Avenue. It was the most disgusting hotel I have ever been in. To start I don't think a window has been cleaned in ages, there were leaves and bleach stains on the carpeting, a door handle came off in my hand. Then the room, tiles falling off the shower area, water came out brown, the carpeting was gross, electrical wires coming out of the heating unit which did not work. The pool was unsupervised and some unknown loser arrived in the pool area in underwear. I notified the front desk and like who cares, nothing was done. We did move to another hotel, the Crowne Plaza, it was wonderful.

Now this is the funniest post of the day! I have traveled all over and stayed in all kinds of places, and most people have some idea of their budget. As you describe this place, I can't help wondering why you went there in the first place.
There is a huge difference in everything between Howard Johnson's and the Crown Plaza! I mean just listen to the names! $29.99 to $59.99

To be fair I have done the same thing, trying to save money. But Howard Johnson's is not usually a hotel, but a motel. (Having outside doors)! And many times they are cheap and nappy! But what more can you expect? Motel rooms are almost the same price as they were 15 years ago. Except now they are nasty!

Wait a minute...is anyone surprised? It's Howard Johnson...when was the last time you stayed at one or ate at one, when you had a choice?
