Sears Complaint - Sears lied about delivery and in a rude manner as an added bonus
DALLAS, TEXAS -- My family has been buying all home appliances from Sears because of their reputation and products they carry. We have bought Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher, and refrigerator in the past. I just bought Washer, Dryer and refrigerator just a couple of weeks ago. Washer and Dryer were delivered yesterday, on a scheduled date.
Now, refrigerator is a different story. My sister confirmed yesterday with Sears (automated call) of the delivery date to be Monday, the 1st as scheduled. Sears called sometime yesterday afternoon (no one was home to answer the phone) and left a message to call back about the delivery. I did not call back as it was very late at night when I got back home. This morning around 8:15am, I received a phone call from Sears saying she's confirming that the delivery date has been changed to the 15th and they are mailing me $100 for my inconvenience. I asked why has the date been changed. She said there was a notation in her system that someone has talked to someone at my household in regard to the change in date. I was not home all day to answer any call. I asked my sister if she has spoken with anyone from Sears regarding this change in delivery date. She told me she confirmed the date with the automated call from Sears yesterday morning but did not actually speak with anyone. I told this lady (from customer service?) that neither I nor my sister has spoken with anyone from Sears. I asked her again why has the delivery date has been changed? She said (in a rude manner) that she told me already that her notation said someone from Sears has spoken with one of us about change in delivery date and the $100 gift certificate for my inconvenience. She did not answer my simple direct question and on top of that she was being rude. I asked her AGAIN why the delivery date has been pushed back. She finally said it was because Sears oversold the products and the manufacturer could not make them to meet the delivery date? The earliest they could deliver is the 15th.
I'm moving out of the apartment on the 7th and I need a refrigerator at my new place. What am I supposed to do with all the food and poultry in the freezer between the 7th and the 15th?? Throw them all away until I get my refrigerator?? And they're paying me $100 for my inconvenience??? The $100 do not even scratch the surface of the inconvenience I will be facing in a week. I don't want the $100. I want the refrigerator that I already paid for 2 weeks ago.
The lady (from customer service?) I spoke with this morning do not have any empathy to the customers. She was rude.
I will have to rethink about Sears and their reputation again. Also rethink about doing business with them again in the future.
