Don McGill Toyota of Katy Collision center Complaint - "Life of Ownership Repair Warranty" not honored.

Review by Jairomos on 2010-02-27
KATY, TEXAS -- “Life of Ownership Repair Warranty” doesn’t exist at Don McGill Toyota of Katy Collision center.
I had an accident last December and I sent my car to be fixed at Don McGill Toyota of Katy were I bought it in first place. I finally got my car back after more than a month of repairs. It ride OK at the beginning but not too long after I start hearing a rattling noise coming from the engine compartment. I found the source and went back to this place to get use of my “warranty” and repair it. After they look at it, I was told a new part has to be ordered and they won’t pay for it.
It’s completely their fault not to find this broken part and replace it, but they don’t want to honor the warranty.

If it was damaged in the collision and they should have found this defective part and replaced it at the time of the accident, you might be able to go back to the insurance company and have them pay for it.

Sometimes, damage isn't found until a car is fixed and back on the road and the insurance companies will reopen a claim if you can provide the proof this new problem is directly related to the accident.

But if this is unrelated to the accident and is just normal wear and tear than you will be on your own for the repairs. Good luck.

A month to fix the car? Dang! That in itself is complaint worthy; as for the rest, good advice HJ.
