The Hartford Auto Insurance Co. Complaint - Cancellation Fees

HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT -- To begin with I have a hearing disability, so when the phone is involved I get a member of my family to make the call for me.
With that said, 3 weeks before my Insurance was due for renewal I had my daughter call for me to inform them not to take the money ( $133 ) from my bank account because I was changing Insurance Companies.
This was in November of 2009. In February 2010 I received a notice for $131 for cancellation fee.
This was not done during the contract, but at the end of it.
For those that already deal with The Hartford, be prepared for this type of treatment. And those that are looking for auto insurance BEWARE.

Read the contract. I am betting it is in there. Most insurance cancellations have to be done in writing.
