Delta Airlines Complaint - Skyteam Mileage Credit Problems
Beware ... you may not receive mileage credit owed you on partner airlines!!!
I fly almost exclusively with Delta (formerly dealt with NWA) and have ran into a serious problem. Last year I flew to Paris for work, a 8K round trip flight and was denied all mileage because I chose to ticket with Air France instead of Delta. I made this decision to save about 70 bucks on a 700 dollar fare. That being said, what they fail to explain clearly is that, although you are flying on a "partner airlines", certain classes of fare are exempt from sharing the mileage. The best part is, you honestly can't find the web page on Delta's site that explains this. Search, "partner airline restrictions" and you get nothing (which assumes you know to look for it). Heck, I didn't even know what a booking class was until this whole fiasco started.
My favorite part is ... Delta's customer service acts like there is nothing they can do. Like someone will go to jail if they fix it!
So ... I help run a business ... here's an idea: Since you know the restrictions and you know the booking fare, and almost all tickets are booked online (access to all the data) ... HOW ABOUT YOU PUT A WARNING ON FARES THAT AREN'T ELIGIBLE FOR MILEAGE CREDIT?!?!?!
It's because there is a total lack of focus on the customer. So frustrating considering how often I fly and the money I spend with the company. I don't know if they are flying blind, or what, but this isn't rocket science.
