Chase Manhattan Bank Complaint - Chase has ruined our credit from the loan modification program
We are going through the exact same thing as Buckeye wrote about. We started making our first modification payment June of 2009. We didn't hear any word back from Chase for months so we called them. They told us that they didn't receive the fax with all our documents that they requested, so we send them again..Again several months later we called and was told the same. So AGAIN we sent the documents a second time.
Still not hearing any thing from Chase. Dec. of 2009 we get a call saying they needed more documents. We faxed those to them, thinking surely we would be hearing very soon. As of late Feb. 2010 we hadn't heard a word from Chase soooooo we call them only to be told we were put back on another 3 month trial period.
After thinking about that all week I called Chase and ask them why are we back on another trial period. The customer service representative who I spoke with seemed rather confused. After asking many questions he finally tells me that as of yesterday March 2nd we have been denied.
As with many other consumers we requested a copy of our credit report and sure enough Chase has reported us in default for the last 10 months. I was told by Chase that they will not contact the credit bureau due to the fact that it's the way they do it. Not one time in these 9 months did we ever receive any information stating the guide lines and rules made by Chase. If they had told us up front that we would be reported in default we would had never applied. Our credit is now ruined and we're stuck with a home that we can't afford the payments.
If anyone can find out the information on facts..etc with Chase we would be glad to sign on to a class act law suit.
Please contact me with your stories..Maybe if we get enough people we can get something done.
P.S. by the way we have made every modification payment on time.
