Ashley Furniture Complaint - Unfair pricing - Bedroom sets
WOODBRIDGE, VIRGINIA -- I was in the Woodbridge Virginia Store on January 24 and liked the Leighton Bedroom set. I was quoted a price of $1700. I decided to wait until President's Day weekend to see if there would be a sale since that was what was advertised and came in 3 weeks later, February 14, and the price had gone up to $1800. I had spoken to the store manager who quite rudely told me there was nothing I could do about the $100 difference because corporate set the prices. However, after speaking to corporate, it seems that each store has complete control over price setting. I then called 4 other Ashley stores within a 75 mile radius of DC, and they all had cheaper prices on the EXACT same bedroom set than the Woodbridge/ Fredricksberg stores, which are owned by someone different. Ashley would then NOT let me return the furniture because all sales are final, something they did not tell me at the time. After a HUGE run around which involved the store owner and several calls where they bullied me and were very forceful, they still did not give me a refund equal to the price difference. There isn't any other course of correction beyond the manager of the store, so I wanted to be sure to put this complaint in writing.
