Red Roof Inn Complaint - Dissapointed with Red Roof Inn

Review by Frustrated659 on 2010-03-04
I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Washington during the Obama Inauguration and I bought a lot of mementos and souvenirs. Before I left to get some lunch I heard the maid in the room next to me and when I came back she was done with my room and had moved the the next. That night I noticed that all of my Obama souvenirs were gone but not only that they stole all of my make up that was in a leather case and my costume jewelry. When I reported this to the hotel staff and police they said they would follow up. By the time I got home they said they checked the key card activity on my room and found that no one had entered my room and that I must have left my room door opened. They did not compensate me or even apologize. I have since found out that this type of thef is common because usually it is hard for a person to follow up if you live in another city.

Why would you wait this long to complain? You already have a police report. What else do you think they can do? Even if an employee stole it, as you imply, the hotel is not responsible. The thief is. And I have to ask: WHY Would you leave valuables in your room unattended?
