Gold's Gym International, Inc Complaint - Gold's Gym cashed my check, then told me that they never got it.
I paid Gold's Gym, they cashed my check but they didn't record it. I, seeing that they cashed my check thought that I was paid in full.
A couple of months later I get a bill from a COLLECTIONS AGENCY telling me that I own $94.00. I have made a hundred phone calls, gone in person to my local Gold's Gym, was told that it was taken care of, but when I checked back the collections agency tells me that they have not been notified that I am paid up, and now I owe them processing fees. I told them that this was an error of Gold's Gym because they didn't record my payment, and that I should have never been sent to a collections agency to start with, so I don't owe them processing fees. They say, "I'm sorry mam, but all we have to go by is what we see on our computer screen, and I can't change it." I said back, "I realize that all of you girls are just clerks, and the people with authority are hiding away in their office." She said that even the owner of the company wouldn't change this.
Clark Howard on TV has warned people not to give any gym your credit card # or bank account # ---
the girls at the billing department told me that if I had given Gold's gym these numbers I wouldn't be going through this now. How dumb is that???? Of course I wouldn't be going through it with them, but I would be worse off than ever, having to cancel my bank account and my credit card in order to get Gold's Gym to stop billing me!!!!
