Harper College Complaint - College with no education

Review by Theivesand liars on 2010-03-04
PALATINE, ILLINOIS -- Their student adviser put me into classes that would not be covered by my chargeback from another college. They waited until after the semester was over (Which I did horrible because I had swine flu, no insurance so I had to nurse myself through it) At this time they started trying to take $1800 out of my checking account, since I didn't have that they raised ti to $3800 and keep trying. I canceled my classes for spring because I can not afford to pay $10,000 a semester to go to school. They decided to not cancel my classes. My bank (Bank of America)has charged me around $600 in overdraft fees. They will not let me close the account even though I have deposited the money to cover their overdraft fees.

You have to drop the class (within an early semester time frame) to receive a refund for the class/es, and it is never a 100% refund. Did you drop the classes? Otherwise they will continue to try to collect. They do not care if you are sick or not attending classes. Your complaint is confusing...what is a chargeback?...why are they taking money from your account? Is this an accredited school?

Classes were dropped three weeks before they were to start. In IL a chargeback is when you live in one district but go to a school in another district. Supposedly they are an accredited school, but I have never seen such a badly run business in my life. Not one person there that I have dealt with understands how to do their job.
