MacGregor's - Rochester, NY - Perinton branch Complaint - Terrible Management
ROCHESTER, NEW YORK -- I recently had dinner at the Pittsford Palmyra location and had perhaps the worst service I have ever experienced at any restaurant. This was not by any fault of the waitress who was wonderful, but rather the kitchen and managers. It took 45 minutes to get wings, and a full two hours to receive my dinner which was simply a wrap. The restaurant was fairly busy, but by no means slammed. I requested the manager to talk to him and after 30 minutes he finally made it over to my table and came at me with an attitude. I explained what had happened and not only did he not apologize, but had nerve to challenge me that it took that long. When I asked if there was anything he could do he simply said no, not even to comp a couple of beverages. It turns out the management had understaffed the restaurant, having only 1 cook, 2 waiters, and 1 bartender even though this was during Christmas week. Further aggravating was an additional piece of information I learned. They made our waitress pay the beverage tab (not for the unreceived food) for a family who had got tired of waiting and walked off. It was not her fault that management screwed up and somehow they feel that this is good business, meanwhile she was the only saving grace they had that evening.
I contacted the next level up in management the next day and while he at least apologized he too justified service and refused to offer any compensation. Unless you want to support a horribly managed location, I suggest you go elsewhere.
