Maytag Corporation Complaint - The reason why the Maytag Repair Man isn't busy
CLEVELAND, TENNESSEE -- I now understand why the Maytag repair man isn't busy. He goes on a call, charges $139.00 to tell you that the parts and labor to fix your machine will exceed the cost to buy a new one. In my case, $700.00. This only takes approximately 15 minutes. No, I don't think that things will last forever. Our cars require maintenance to keep running well and I expect that my large appliances will too. What I don't expect is to pay greater than 50% of the purchase price, which was a $1,299.00 in 2004, yes, only 5.5 yrs ago. I'm sure someone in the corporate office thinks this is a great business model, however I assure you it is not. As I shopped for a new washer today, I noted that Maytag models were at the bottom of the list on consumer reports. I also plan to share all the awful details with hundreds of my closest friends on facebook.
Shame on you Maytag.
