Midas In New Albany, Ohio Complaint - Lied About What Was Wrong
NEW ALBANY, OHIO -- I took my car into Midas because the window wouldn't go up or down. Suspected it was probably the motor based on the info I had gathered. Went to Midas because this is where I go for oil changes. I go there regulary and the guys Know me by name and are always nice and professional. Long story short. When, Z (we'll call him Z)came to give me the diagnosis he said my motor was out and this in turn caused the regulator cord/wire to break and this woild cost me 668.00 plus tax to fix. WHAT!!! Of course I'm not paying this ridiculous price, so I take my car to another place to see what they would say. Of course I didn't tell them I had already been to Midas. I watched this gentleman take the panel and other covers off the door and he starts messing the window. Well low and behold, he says that the screws had backed out of the motor. He began to tighten ALL of the screws and the window went up and down without a problem.
I said to him:so there's nothing wrong with my motor or regulator?(although I never saw any broke wires when he took the door off anyway)And he said no, screws just needed to be tightened. I asked him what I owed him and he said 20-30 dollars. Called Midas back and told them this. Asked "Z" Who MISDIAGNOSED(LIED) to me, he immediately threw his co- worker/employee (R) under the bus. I AM STILL STEAMING!!!
I DON'T THINK THEY EVER EVEN LOOKED AT IT. Oh, btw, went to auto zone to price the parts and one was $72 and the other was $113. Go figure.
