Home Depot Complaint - Improper Installation of Washing Machine
GARLAND, TEXAS -- Home Depot sold Betty a GE washing machine on Dec. 24, 2009. GE Direct delivered the washer and installed the machine on Dec. 29, 2009. On Dec. 31, 2009 Betty woke up to a flooded home. She contacted Home Depot and they contacted GE. The GE delivery people that came out said the washer hose was not connected properly. They failed to give Betty any paper work. GE called Servpro the water clean up service to clean up the water. I was called by Betty to repair the damage on her home. I sent GE Direct's Property Claims an estimate for repairs on Jan. 14, 2010. The claim was denied because she had no paper work from the delivery people. It took over 2 months for them to deny the claim. I have made over 30 calls to Home Depot and GE with no luck in getting this resolved. Betty is over 80 yrs old and does not need the stress. In the mean time Servpro keeps sending statements that she must pay the $1,991.48 bill for cleaning up the water.
The property damage caused was over $3,000.00. Home Depot and GE should be ashamed for letting this go on for almost 3 months.
