Discount PC International Complaint - Dicount PC sold me a computer that would not connect to internet

Review by flossiem on 2010-03-13
CENTENNIAL, COLORADO -- I recently made my first online purchase. I ordered a refurbished computer from Discount PC international in order to surf the internet. I will admit I am not up to date with technology and maybe I was assuming to much that all computers should have the hardware to connect to the internet but I believe most consumers would assume this. This Hp dc7600 does not have an a network adapter and will not connect to Qwest DSL. This experience will probaly cost me over hundred dollars in shipping and lots of time and aggravation and I will probaly never buy online again. I guess this company motto is "Let the buyer beware"

What do you mean it doesn't have a network adapter? Does it have an Ethernet jack? Look on the back. You can also check the hardware tab in the system information. It should tell you what adapters you have installed.

According to the specs it has wireless capability with a PCI card too. You say you are not really tech savvy. Is it possible you just don't know what you are doing? Not trying to be ride just askin.

if the network adapter was removed, you can replace it. walmart, best buy, lots of places sell them. some can be fairly cost effective.

Mad, true. The OP can also just by a USB adapter and use it for internet that way. Costs about $15.
